We find ourselves in such unusual times.
For me, it feels as though we are marking time in a space that is suspended between ‘before COVID' and ‘after COVID', between the past and the future, between the known and the unknown. So many of us are feeling uncertain and unsteady as we try to cognise post-pandemic life for us, our loved ones, our communities, both locally and globally.
I feel life is asking us to dig deep and explore the possibility of letting go of our habitual ways of relating to life, releasing our beliefs and expectations that perpetuate feelings of fear, scarcity, insecurity, so we can create the conditions for a more heart-centred way of living and relating. Perhaps life is trying to push us to the edge where we have no choice but to leap from feelings of inadequacy to abundance, from comparison to oneness, from unsteadiness to stability, from fear to love.
I wonder if this is why we find ourselves in such chaotic times. Are we in that moment of chaos before transformation? Are we in the darkest hour before the dawn?
Maybe by showing up for ourselves each day in caring and kind ways, we can start to create the conditions for this heart-centred change? Maybe our home practice can show us the way forward - experiencing first hand what it feels like to care, comfort and nurture ourselves so we can share these qualities with others in an authentic and meaningful way. Maybe we need to take real care of ourselves first so we have the depth and capacity to take real care of others.
Maybe by showing up for ourselves and our home practice each day, we are nurturing the spark that will create the world that we want to see?
It all begins with you, my friend. You hold the key.
To help me navigate these uncertain times with a little more grace, clarity, and courage, I have been reciting affirmations, or positive statements of intent, as part of my morning home practice. By using these affirmations first thing in the morning they help me remember who I really am, how I want to be, and how I want to focus my attention each day. The affirmations remind me that life is working in my favour, that it wants me to feel good every day, and that I am loved.
To support your home practice, I have created a short 'Daily Affirmations to Clarify and Inspire' meditation practice that you could integrate into the beginning of your own daily home practice. I would love to hear about your experience and whether the affirmation practice is one that you find helpful. I read and respond to all my emails and I would love to hear from you!
The change we want to see in the world begins with us my friend. We need to support ourselves with practices that cultivate real and meaningful change in ourselves and in our lives so we can inspire others to do the same.
It all begins with you.
Take care inspired agents of change.
With love,
Sharon
