Hello, my name is Sharon Spencer and welcome to Simple Sacred Everyday. I am a very passionate home practice advocate and Simple Sacred Everyday is my vehicle to spread the word around the benefits of a home yoga inspired practice and also to provide you with resources and strategies and practices that you can use to get your own practice up and running.

My practice began about 15 years ago. I was at home looking after three very young children, had a partner traveling and working long hours running a household. I was teaching dance a couple of nights a week and I really wasn't coping. I was constantly tired, I was anxious, I was fearful, constantly second guessing myself and felt that this was the way that life was. I had a little voice in my head telling me to go to yoga and so I ended up going down to the local yoga studio once or twice a week if I could, and it was there that I discovered this part of myself that was calm and that was quiet and that was insightful and I loved that feeling. Once I finished my yoga practice, I loved how good I felt, but I wasn't able to get to the studio everyday. Life wouldn't allow me. So I had to work out a way of bringing this practice home. So one day I got out my yoga mat and I just started to do just a couple of poses that I could remember from one of my yoga classes. That was the beginning of my home practice!

I found that the more often I came to my mat when I could fit it in, in amongst the chaos at home, that it helped me find my ground again. It helped me find my calm and clear minded self.

And so here I am, 15 years later, still showing up on my yoga mat and on my cushion. This practice is a part of my day that I could not live without. It has saved my life so many times and I wouldn't be able to do what I do without it. So if you're feeling overwhelmed or feeling as though there's gotta be more to life or wanting to connect with a deeper and quieter part of yourself, I can help you - and this home yoga practice, which is so simple and so accessible, is something that you can commit to for yourself so that you can find a little more calm and clarity in your day.

So I look forward to sharing with you a whole range of resources that you can use to start to create your own home practice that is simple and meaningful. To get you started, I've created a really beautiful ebook, finding your calm and you can download that off my website, www.simplesacredeveryday.com/ebook and I'm also on Instagram and Facebook with a private Facebook group (Find Your Calm: a home practice community), which you're very welcome to join. In this Facebook group we have a group of like-minded people looking to cultivate their own home practice sharing ideas and resources - I'd love you to join us. (You can request to join the Facebook group here https://www.facebook.com/groups/158557408873051/)

So take care and I look forward to seeing you again soon. Namaste xx
