A Taste of Freedom
Your home practice is not about the ‘shoulds’.
It is not about following the rules.
It is not about adhering to the ‘right’ sequence.
It is not ticking the home practice box each day.
Your time on the mat is about connecting with you. It is giving yourself your undivided attention. It is feeling your way through the practice each day. What do you need today? What would help you feel listened to today? What would help you feel good today? What would support you most today?
This, my friend, is the true pathway to freedom.
Your home practice is the perfect playground for you to explore what it feels like to respond to what you need in the moment without being governed by the rules, protocols, expectations, and regimes of the outside world. This is your opportunity to reclaim your sovereignty. To practice being true to you. Of embracing, loving and honouring the whole of you.
‘This tender, listening attention you offer yourself does so much to regain your trust, to demonstrate to you that you have your own back.’
It is ok for your home practice to morph and shape-shift from week to week, day to day. To be active and full one day, and then quiet and still the next. Allow yourself to be comfortable with requests from your inner life that don’t always make sense. Feel them, honour them and be brave enough to follow their lead.
This tender, listening attention you offer yourself does so much to regain your trust, to demonstrate to you that you have your own back. That you matter. How you feel matters.
Over time these small acts of tenderness on the mat give you the confidence to express this honest connection with yourself out in the world. To take action and speak words that feel aligned with what is important to you. To respond to and move through the world in ways that are congruent with your own heart and soul. To be guided by the wisdom gathered on your home practice mat.
To feel true freedom and wholeness in all that you are, and all that you do.
To be a humble example of what self-love looks like.
To be the sower of seeds for a world that is inclusive and unified.
To be the quiet revolutionary,
a heart centred self-leader,
the embodiment of truth, acceptance, integrity and grace,
lighting the pathway forward for those you love the most.
Here is a meditation to help you release any limiting beliefs you may hold, so you can be a little more open and receptive to the intuitive voice within.
In the end, my darling, it’s all about being true to you.
With love,
Sharon
